"For the truth is that I already know as much about my fate as I need to know. The day will come when I will die. So the only matter of consequence before me is what I will do with my alloted time. I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear, or I can raise my sails and dip and soar in the breeze."

Why Should I Hire a Personal Coach?
Coaching is an effective and efficient process that helps people produce the results they are seeking in their personal and professional lives. The role of the coach is not to “fix” the client but rather to approach them as a creative, resourceful, and complete individual. The coach-client relationship is, above all, focused on providing support to enhance the skills, resources and attributes that the client already possesses.
Although, every coaching relationship is customized around the needs of the client, there are some common themes that surface with many coaching relationships. These include:
People often look for a coach for support when expected or unexpected life events create an opportunity to take a look at where they are in life and where they want to go. A coach can help a client through the transition and maximize the benefits from each major life transition.
As we grow-up and eventually reach adulthood, our values are shaped by our life experiences. It’s important for a successful life and career to identify and understand our own personal set of values and how they guide us through our daily lives. A coach can help guide a client through the process of identifying and prioritizing their personally held values. This often lays the groundwork for the next three common coaching themes.
We all play many roles in life. An important part of living your life to the fullest is making sure you are putting the right effort and focus on the right part of your life at the right time. For example, you may currently be putting a lot of focus and energy on your career but may be neglecting another area of your life such as family. The key here is to understand that when you use your time and energy in one or two parts of your life, all the other parts are impacted. A coach can help a client identify their roles in life and keep a heightened awareness of the impact of their daily choices on their own happiness and those around them.
Experiencing a full and vibrant life gets down to one thing. Are you living your values everyday? If you are happy, motivated and energetic about your life and career then most likely you are living your values. If you are not living your values, then chances are you are neglecting those personal values that make up the “real” you! A coach can help a client develop and complete a plan of action that moves them from frustration and unhappiness to a more fulfilling life.
Goal Setting and Achievement
Many of us have good intentions toward improving our lives and those around us but the unfortunate thing is that it’s easy to get off-track. Daily distractions from our goals can become overwhelming and discouraging. A coach can help a client set reasonable and attainable goals and hold the client accountable for reaching those goals. If the client finds themselves stuck, the coach can help them through the barriers to goal achievement.
Most personal and life coaches conduct training via telephone meetings with their clients. This is often supported by e-mail and instant messaging when the need arises. Shoreline CDS coaches utilize the most appropriate methods that meet the specific needs of each client.
